What a day looks like for a Travel Advisor:

  • Responding to client travel requests for reservations (airline, hotel, rental car, or other modes of transportation) efficiently, courteously, and in a timely manner.
  • Actively planning and selling transportation, accommodations, and other travel services to leisure travelers by understanding their needs.
  • Supporting all functions related to the booking process, including administrative and accounting tasks necessary to process electronic or other travel documents.
  • Ensuring optimum customer service through effective use of computer systems, positive telephone techniques, and maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Operating with a sense of urgency and conveying that to the traveler through actions.
  • Maintaining favorable and collaborative working relationships with team members in all departments.
  • Enhancing the organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value.

 

What we love about you:

At least one year of experience working with travel booking sites/tools and Customer Relationship Management programs (experience with Client Base is preferred).

  • Strong sales acumen.
  • Ability to interact and negotiate effectively.
  • Enthusiasm and passion for the travel industry.
  • Knowledge of industry codes and practices, as well as an understanding of international travel requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Self-motivation with a strong commitment to personal goals, self-development, objectives, and work ethic.
  • A good sense of geography and the workings of the travel industry.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while remaining flexible in a changing work environment.
  • Customer-focused and service-oriented.
  • Effective listening skills with the ability to determine the root cause quickly, check for shared understanding, and address misunderstandings promptly.
  • Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours during normal and/or peak travel periods and during emergency travel situations.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.

 

You might be the perfect fit if you have:

  • Work experience as a Travel Coordinator or a similar role.
  • You are driven and proactive
  • Very good understanding of travel laws and regulations.
  • The ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.
  • Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to assess multiple options.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • The ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • The ability to represent the group of companies and promote its products and services to clients.
  • Negotiation skills and the ability to maintain customer relationships.
  • Computer skills.
  • Organizational and planning skills.
  • Communication proficiency – verbal and written; appropriate use of grammar; listening.
  • Information gathering and monitoring skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Flexibility: The ability to work efficiently and effectively with frequent interruptions.
 

Additional Details:

Occasional business travel, overnight stays may be required for training events, travel shows, vendor functions, and familiarization visits.
